Origin and Founding
The Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG) was formed in 1950 by merging the Boy Scouts Association of India and the Girl Guides Association of India. Its mission is to promote character development, citizenship, leadership, and service among young people across India.
Early Milestones
Before the merger, Scouting and Guiding in India were introduced in 1909–1911. After independence, BSG grew rapidly, organizing national jamborees, training camps, and community service initiatives across India.
Growth and Achievements
Today, BSG has millions of members nationwide. It promotes leadership, social service, and cultural exchange through various programs like adventure activities, environmental campaigns, and skill development workshops.
International Participation
Bharat Scouts & Guides actively participates in international events, including World Scout Jamborees, Asia-Pacific Scout Conferences, and global service projects, connecting Indian Scouts with the worldwide Scouting community.
