Understand patrol roles (Patrol Leader, Assistant, Scribe, Quartermaster, First Aider). Learn simple planning: set a goal, list tasks, assign roles, timebox, review.
Yells & Flags: Create a patrol yell and simple patrol flag.
Logbook basics: Date, activity, who attended, what went well, what to improve.

2 — Flag Etiquette & Basic Drill
Learn correct flag handling, hoisting, lowering, and parade formations. Practice salutes, turns, and spacing with your patrol.
Commands: Fall-in, Stand-at-Ease, Attention, Right/Left Turn.
Formation Types: Single Rank, Horseshoe, and Open Circle.

3 — Scout Promise & Law in Action
Live the Scout Law daily—by honesty, punctuality, fairness, and kindness. Build a Good Turn habit chain!
Activity: Keep a 7-day Good Turn record and share it with your Patrol.
Example: Help a classmate, conserve water, or repair a camp tool.

4 — First Aid & Emergencies
Learn safety basics—check danger, give first response, and call for help. Manage bleeding, burns, fainting, and wounds.
Kit Contents: Bandages, antiseptic, gauze, tape, gloves, safety pins.
Golden Rule: Stay calm, act fast, reassure the injured.
Fun fact: The first Scout first-aid badge appeared over 100 years ago!
5 — Knots & Lashings (Pioneering)
Master essential knots for joining, securing, and building. Use lashings to create tripods, flag stands, and gadgets!
Knots: Reef, Clove Hitch, Sheet Bend, Bowline.
Lashings: Square, Diagonal, Sheer.

6 — Estimation & Trail Signs
Estimate distances, heights, and widths with pace count and stick methods. Use trail symbols for direction, water, and danger.
Key Symbols: Arrow = direction, Circle = end, Cross = danger.
Fun fact: Early explorers used pace beads to measure long distances!
7 — Map Reading & Compass (Advanced)
Learn to orient maps, read contour lines, and follow bearings. Understand magnetic north vs grid north for accurate navigation.
Activity: Try a mini-hike using compass bearings.
Fun fact: Some Scouts use sun position when compasses fail!
8 — Camping Skills II
Master advanced camping — pitching in wind, waste management, cooking hygiene, and site selection for comfort and safety.
Checklist: Tent, tools, water, fire kit, med kit, map.

9 — Fire & Outdoor Cooking
Understand fire triangle and cooking basics. Build safe fires (teepee/log cabin) and cook simple meals like foil packs or dampers.
Tip: Always have water or sand nearby for safety.

10 — Signaling & Communication
Communicate through whistle codes, semaphore, and Morse code. Great for hikes and emergencies when no devices work!
Codes: 1 blast = attention, 3 = emergency, 2 = stop.

11 — Observation & Tracking
Learn to track footprints, animal trails, and signs of movement. Practice Kim’s Game to sharpen memory and observation.
